A talk that opens the conversation

A good talk offers more than information: a fresh perspective on work and language for shared discussion. We combine our experience of leadership, coaching and human connection in a clear, practical presentation. Petra's parish leadership experience and Bäsmä's management across sectors, entrepreneurship and service design provide different, complementary perspectives.

We can include discussion and short participatory exercises. Content, speaker and focus are chosen to suit the audience and goal. A church perspective is possible but not required.

Example talk topics

  • Human connection makes the difference: listening and interaction in everyday work.
  • A coaching approach to leadership: questions, feedback and solution-focused thinking.
  • Trust through change: how do we find a shared direction?
  • Strengths for everyday life: meaning at work, boundaries and community support.
  • Learning in everyday work: induction, student supervision and cooperation between workplaces and education. Bäsmä brings 13 years of supervision experience.
  • Bible lecture: Petra's talk about the Bible. Watch the recorded Bible lecture
  • Parish work in a changing world: community, leadership and renewal.

Your own topic is welcome too. We will shape it into an engaging programme for your audience.

A day shaped around you

Workplace wellbeing days

A day together can be refreshing, thought-provoking and team-building at the same time. You do not have to choose only a talk or only activities; we combine them into a natural programme.

A group warming up for shared activities by raising their hands

A shared goal, a varied programme

The programme can combine a shared warm-up, team activities led by Petra, an interactive talk and a Kohtaamistaide session led by Bäsmä. We choose methods to suit participants; nobody needs to perform or have artistic skills.

Expertise to suit your needs

A guest expert can be invited if you wish, for example an occupational health physician or psychotherapist. Availability, topic and fee are agreed separately. The day is a shared workplace activity, not treatment or therapy.

Example programmes

What would you like your day to achieve?

These starting points can be combined. Content and duration are always tailored to the group, goals and budget.

01 / CONNECTION

A day of connection

A talk on interaction, team activities with Petra and a shared Kohtaamistaide session. Space to see colleagues in a new light.

02 / SHARED DIRECTION

A new direction together

A talk on change, participatory group activities and a facilitated discussion about what we want to strengthen in everyday work. We end by bringing together shared insights.

03 / STRENGTHS

Strengths for everyday life

An expert talk on wellbeing, gentle shared activities and a creative breather. Bäsmä brings a public health nursing and occupational health perspective: workload, recovery and everyday practices that support work ability. The day offers space to reflect on individual and shared wellbeing.

Kohtaamistaide – a shared creative breather

Kohtaamistaide is an arts-based approach led by a trained facilitator. It can form a group-building part of a workplace wellbeing day alongside team activities and expert talks. The aim is to create space for making and connecting, rather than assess artistic ability.

At Sheprock, sessions are led by Bäsmä Roinisto, who completed Kohtaamistaide facilitator training at Laurea. We plan the goals and suitability for your group in advance.

A shared moment
Everyone's individual mark

Kohtaamistaide is facilitated visual art in a small group. Colours, materials and creating together make room for connection, creativity and appreciation of others.

The method developed at Laurea University of Applied Sciences is based on Japanese Clinical Art. Its clear structure and multisensory activities help participants focus on the shared moment. It is led by a qualified Kohtaamistaide facilitator, at Sheprock Bäsmä Roinisto.

“I can't draw” is a perfectly good starting point

No previous art experience is needed. The facilitator demonstrates the steps, introduces the materials and helps everyone progress. Participants make their own choices, for example in colours and shapes. There is room for everyone's individual expression, and together we discover what is interesting and beautiful in the work.

For workplaces and new teams

Space to connect in a new way

Kohtaamistaide can offer a shared experience in a wellbeing day where everyone participates on their own terms.

Getting to know one another and belonging

Shared activities give a natural reason to talk and discover new sides of each other. This can make getting acquainted easier, including in a newly formed team.

Respectful interaction

Through the artwork we practise looking, listening and noticing the good. There is room to be heard and seen without having to give a long speech.

A breather and the joy of achievement

Focusing on the senses and working with your hands offers a break from everyday work. Experimenting and completing a piece can strengthen creativity and a sense of capability.

A clearly facilitated session

How the session unfolds

The facilitator plans materials, activities and the sequence for the group. Participants just need to arrive with curiosity; each next step is introduced with guidance.

  1. 01 · GETTING STARTED

    Settling into a shared moment

We start with a short exercise that brings attention to the group and engages the senses. This might involve noticing colours, feeling materials or moving together.

  2. 02 · MAKING ART

    One step at a time

The work follows clear steps demonstrated by the facilitator. Participants learn the tools by using them and make their own choices within the guidance. The facilitator supports the process and maintains its rhythm.

  3. 03 · APPRECIATION

Seeing the good in the work and its creators

Finally, we display the work and take time to appreciate it. Every piece receives positive attention. We notice interesting colours, shapes and details, and participants can share their experience.

Part of your wellbeing programme

A shared creative moment in a small group

The ideal group size is 2–8, with a maximum of 10 participants. For larger groups, we plan rotating small-group sessions alongside other activities. Kohtaamistaide is one group-building part of the day, alongside team activities and expert talks.
